TOO OLD, DO NOT WANT By T-Archer

In my line of work I am constantly dealing with the older generation. Worse for me as I am from Good old Gen Y.

Too Old, Do not want. Whilst a rather nasty web meme of a different nature perfectly sums up my feelings towards the Elderly.

To be fair there was a time when the elderly were respected, honoured and valued. This was a time when we also died at age 50 and squatted in caves. Then the elder was important as he held knowledge. Today they hold a pensioner card and often racist views from a time gone by.

Perhaps I am being too harsh.

Fuck no, I am being too easy.

Unless you specifically took an active role in a war, in some way contributed to science or are Clint Eastwood, your only achievement is that you have survived long enough to have liver spots. Well done indeed.

Now it may be harsh to say that some old people would only be useful as 'blood and bone' fertilizer. But I am saying it.

I am honest with myself the world does not owe me shit. I exist, I deal with it. However old people have developed a 'I survived now the world owes me' mentality. Situations you see this:

BUSES: Give up my seat?. What the hell for?. Why are you even outside today it isn't pension day.

SHOPS: I'm sorry but the face of shopping has changed dramatically over the past decade. So when you enter a shop like rivers, please don't ask if they have a tape measure.

MUSIC: You know what on this point you old folks have something to be proud of. Some of the music today is absolute shit compared to what you lot had. I mean Glen Miller's 'In the mood' or 'Moonlight Serenade' contain more artistic merit than the combined works or most pop divas today.

Ownership of the town: I see this all the time in my local newspaper. A constant stream of complaint letters that basically say we should shut down all venues young people enjoy. Fuck you old people. You lived in a time where you could get drunk n drive and party as much as you like. Don't have moral remorse now.
